This section of our site, Medieval
Europe for Kids, is the story of what happened in the
years 500 CE to 1500 CE in Europe. It is a story of castles and kings,
and lords and ladies, and serfs and peasants, and popes and monks, and
very brave knights! It was a time of violence and war.
Timelines:
Medieval times (also called the Middle Ages) refers to a block of time in
history from 500 CE to about 1500 CE - a period of 1000 years. Wherever you
are on the globe - be it Asia, Africa, America, Europe - if you are talking
about a piece of history that happened between 500 and 1500 years ago, you are
talking about something that happened in medieval times.
